Travelling to faraway places, exploring foreign cultures and trying local food have always been my passion. I am sure it started as a child, when I was on holiday with my parents. Even beach holidays always ended up with us in the middle of nowhere, without fuel in the rental car and no idea how to get where we wanted to go.

The decisive moment for me to found this travel blog was when I realised that I had seen places that no Western tourist is going to see in a long time and I just felt that I had to share the amazing experiences I had made in these countries. I am talking about Libya and Mali, and truly hope that other countries won’t be added to that list soon.

However, on followmefaraway.com you will also find my stories about travelling to places that are easily accessible to the average traveller and no less of an experience. It is meant as an inspiration to other travellers.
